Matrimony

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them.” (Genesis 1:27)

Marriage in the Church for the baptized isn’t simply a union for the mutual convenience of a man and woman. The devotion husband and wife have for each other and Christ mirrors Christ’s love and devotion for His bride, the Church. Through their marriage vows, a couple promises to establish a union that is exclusively faithful, permanent (until death), and fruitful (open to children). In a sacramental marriage couples strive to help one another grow in holiness through the practice of their faith, which they also promise to hand on to their children through their lived example and the training they give in the home and through parish schools or religious formation programs. Any person who has been an active registered parishioner for at least 6 months and wishes to be married at Holy Ghost may call the parish office to make an appointment to visit with the Priest at least six months prior to the intended wedding date. Arrangements will be made and marriage preparation classes scheduled as required by the Archdiocese of Omaha prior to receiving the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Please call the parish office Holy Ghost Parish: (402) 731-3176 (Press 5) for more information or to make an appointment with a Priest.
